Pieces come togetherThe drip noises in the alley were far too familiar. Delicate drops were congregating on the gutter's end. Slipping off when they could no longer resist the caress of gravity. One fell upon my face. It rolled across the contours of my nose and then my lips, which were already wet. In fact my whole body dragged with wet weight of the previous downpour. My feet were cut by the cold wetness, it infected my old canvas shoes making them impossibly wet. They cut my ankle with each movement.
